Alumni Workshop Exhibit
Jarrett Thor Fine Arts has decided to have an Alumni Workshop Exhibit in Nov./Dec. 2012 for all the participants from their workshops. They will exhibit a piece of my work along with one or two of each of the paintings the students did in the workshops or that was inspired by the workshop. So far we have had an overwhelming response from the participants from all workshops. Some have never been featured before.
The Opening Reception will be on Friday, November 9 from 6:00 - 9:00 PM. We hope at least some of you will be able to join us for that. The show will run through December, but we will be closed during the holidays.

Press Release
ALUMNI HOMECOMING at JarrettThor Fine Arts
Over 40 participants from previous JarrettThor Fine Arts Workshops in Colonial Beach will be bringing back some of their experimental works for an Alumni Homecoming Show from November 9 to January 6. The Opening Reception for this remarkable display will be Friday November 9 from 6:00-9:00 PM. Come meet some of the artists and teachers. The public is cordially invited free of charge.
Over the past three years, JarrettThor has held workshops taught by well-known artists/instructors who are nationally or internationally known such as Robert Liberace, Diane Tesler, Sara Linda Poly, Steve Griffin, Pat Troiani, Carolyn Goodridge, and Diane Dubois Mullaly. These have given beginners and experienced artists alike a chance to try something different and to extend beyond that with which they are comfortable. The alumni have been asked to bring back something they started during the workshop or a work where the teachings of the workshop provided a strong inspiration. The result has been some interesting new directions, so collectors may get an “early warning” as to where their favorite artists are headed, and casual observers will be sure to find something they like just in time for the holidays. Works of the seven teachers will also be available.
Local sketch artist, Joanne Coffey will be on hand to sketch portraits for anyone interested and the funds will go to a charity. As always, JarrettThor Fine Arts will have its decorative minerals, unique jewelry, wooden bowls, silk scarves, stained glass, and special books. JarrettThor Fine Arts is located at 100 Taylor St. #101 (the Condo Building at Taylor and Hawthorn). Hours are Thursday-Sunday 10:00 AM-5:00 PM and other times by chance or by appointment. It will be closed from just before Christmas to just after New Year’s. For further information contact Joyce Thor at 804-224-7200 or [email protected] or www.jarretthor.com.
